The Perfect Smile Water Flosser is waterproof and very easy to clean. You won’t have to run vinegar or soap through the main body of the Portable Water Flosser, as it features an antimicrobial hose which prevents mold and other harmful bacteria from accumulating inside.

You should clean the reservoir and jet tips every 1-3 months. We recommend replacing the jet tips every 3 months.

Cleaning the reservoir may be done in one of two ways:

1. Dishwasher. Remove the reservoir and place it on the top rack.
2. Hand Wash. Use warm water and soap.

Cleaning the tips: soak all jet tips in a glass full of two parts water and one part white vinegar for five minutes. Remove tips from glass and rinse under warm water.

Here are some of my tips for an effective water flossing experience:

• When using the Perfect Smile Portable Water Flosser, lean low over the sink and place the jet tip in your mouth.
• Aim the tip toward your gum line at a 90-degree angle.
• Turn the on/off button with your free hand and set pressure at the desired setting.
• Direct the stream by turning the knob at the top of the handle.
• Close lips slightly to avoid splashing, but allow water to flow freely from your mouth into the sink.

For best results start with your back molars and work towards the front teeth. Guide jet tip along the gum line, pausing briefly between each tooth. Continue this process until all areas between the teeth and gums have been cleaned.
